ELECTRoLYSIS

Electrolysis

What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis is a method of removing individual hairs from the face or body.

Today's medical electrolysis devices destroy the growth center of the hair
with chemical or heat energy.  After a very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, the hair is removed with tweezers.  Most areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the eyebrows, face, abdomen, thighs, breasts, and legs. There are generally no permanent side effects, but sometimes a temporary, slight reddening of the skin may occur.

How does electrolysis work?

Electrologists treat unwanted hair by applying a small amount of electrical current to the base of the follicle by means of your individual probe. The energy from this hair-fine probe destroys the growth center of the hair follicle, called the papilla. The probe never actually punctures the skin, rather it is inserted into the natural opening formed by the hair follicle. The treated hair will then slide out with no resistance. Therefore, the hair follicle was treated correctly!

Are there any other methods of hair removal as effective as electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal. When performed by a trained professional Electrologist, this procedure destroys your hair’s growth center (papilla) with minimal discomfort. Hair removed properly through electrolysis never returns.  Moreover, there are many parts of your body that can undergo electrolysis. You’ll feel and look your best!
